Monica W. Tracey

Dr. Monica W. Tracey currently works as a Professor of Learning Design and Technology in the Administrative and Organizational Division in the College of Education. Her teaching and research focus on theory and design research of interdisciplinary design including cultivating designer professional identity, design thinking, and empathic design. Dr. Tracey has over 60 publications in the research and practice of instructional design. Dr. Tracey serves on two non-profit boards and works with Detroit community non-profits. She has been awarded the Brown Book Award and doctoral student of the year. She earned her Ph.D. in 2001 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She also has her Masters in Education and her Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Psychology from Central Michigan University.
