Dr. Patricia Young

Dr. Young is an educational technologist, software developer, and professor of education at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She focuses on the use and effect of culture-based information for building communication technologies. Dr. Young’s research examines culture as a design construct in the development of culture-based information and communication technologies. Additionally, her research emphasizes the history of educational technologies designed by and for African Americans. She has the distinction of being the first woman and African American to serve on the editorial board of the journal Educational Technology Research and Development.
