George Veletsianos

Canada Research Chair in Innovative Leaning and Technology

Dr. George Veletsianos is a professor at the School of Education and Technology at Royal Roads University in Canada. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Technology and the Common Wealth of Learning Chair in Flexible Learning. He has held academic positions at the Universities of Texas in US and Manchester in the UK. He has received funding for his research from many organizations, such as the National Science Foundation, the National Geographic, the Canada Research Chairs Program, etc. His research interests include the study of learning experiences and participation in emerging online environments, as well as the design, development, and evaluation of online and blended learning environments. He has published four books, and more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, chapters, and reports. In his most recent paper "Faculty Perceptions of Online Education and Technology Use Over Time: A Secondary Analysis of the Annual Survey of Faculty Attitudes on Technology from 2013 to 2019" published in September of 2022, he researched how faculty attitudes toward technology and online education changed over time.
