Richard Halverson

Associate Dean of Innovation, Outreach and Partnerships

Richard Halverson is the Associate Dean for Innovation, Outreach and Partnerships as well as a Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. He earned his Ph.D. in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University in 2002. He also holds a MA and BA in Philosophy and History from NorthWestern University (1987) and Marquette University (1984) respectively.  He began his career as a high school educator and building administrator. Dr. Halverson is the co-author of Rethinking Education in the Age of Technology alongside Allan Collins as well as other works. His current research focuses on the need to bring research methodologies of the Learning Sciences to educational leadership and interactive media. He currently directs the Comprehensive Assessment of Leadership for Learning Equity-Centered Research Center and is the founder of Data-Drive Instructional System research project.
