Marcy P. Driscoll completed their PhD in Educational Psychology at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Their doctoral dissertation was titled Measures of cognitive structure: Do they really assess learning at the level of comprehension? They are the Dean Emerita and Leslie J. Briggs Professor of Educational Research in the College of Education at Florida State University where they previously held multiple titles since 1980 including Professor, Associate Dean, and Dean of the College of Education.
Dr. Driscoll’s research interests focused on educational psychology, specifically learning theory and instructional theory. Some of their work includes Psychology of Learning for Instruction (three editions) and they also co-edited the 2nd, and 3rd edition of Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology.
