Tillman J. Ragan
Instructional Psychology and Technology, Professor Emeritus
Dr. Tillman Ragan and his wife, Patricia Smith, developed the Smith Ragan model of instructional design, which established the instructional design framework upon which most training is built. Dr. Ragan earned his Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Syracuse University and was recognized as Professor Emeritus in Educational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. Before his passing in 2010, he authored several books and articles on instructional design. His passion for computer technology was evident in his work. Dr. Ragan received many accolades and served on several committees in the field of Instructional Technology, including acting as co-chair for the Professors of Instructional Design and Technology conference.
