Mike Caulfield primarily studies the spread of online misinformation and rumors. He created the SIFT methodology to help educators, students, and researchers understand how to spot online misinformation. Mike currently manages Academic and Collaborative Technologies at the University of Washington Bethell, where he leads the team that designs and implements new technology for the classroom. He continues to train libraries on the SIFT method so they can educate their patrons.
