Digital Promise is a non-profit organization comprising educators, researchers, technology leaders, and community stakeholders. Digital Promise focuses on using technology to provide equitable learning opportunities for all students; creating networks of educators, researchers, leaders, and stakeholders to identify and discuss problems; and providing research and resources to support traditional and digital instructional methods.

The Instructional Technology Council, now a separate nonprofit, was initially formed as a task force of the American Association of Community Colleges. ITC provides resources, research, and inspiration to various organizations offering distance education courses.
