Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson is the Curator of TED, a nonprofit dedicated to disseminating ideas, primarily through TED Talks. These talks are offered online, for free, and for a global audience. 

Anderson was born in Pakistan. He spent his early life in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. He attended an American School in the Himalayas for primary education. He earned a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics degree from Oxford University. 

Early in his career, Anderson was a journalist. Later, he founded Future Publishing- a company specializing in specialist computer publications. However, Future Publishing expanded its scope to include video games, technology, and design. His foundation acquired the TED Conference in 2001. Under his vision, TED was expanded to cover topics including science, business, and critical global issues. 

In 2006, TED experimented with posting some TED talks online. Garnering major success, Anderson positioned TED as a worldwide media initiative. TED posted its 2000th TED Talk online in 2015. These talks are easily accessible and have been translated into over 100 languages.
