Henry Jenkins
Provost Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts
Henry Jenkins is the Provost Professor of Communication, Journalism, Cinematic Arts and Education at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Previously he was the director of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program, which he also created. He received his Ph.D. in Communication at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jenkins is best known for his work on Participatory Culture and Participatory Learning, which is understood as a contrast to consumer culture. Jenkins is the principal investigator for the Citic Imagination Project, which is funded by the MacArthur Foundation.
